Captain a SleepOut team for your school or organization
Identify a student team captain to decide what type of event you’d like to plan and form a recruitment strategy. You can join together with any group of friends, but most Student SleepOuts are planned by existing groups: high school classes, clubs, sports teams, youth groups, Boy and Girl Scout troops, social clubs, faith communities, college fraternities and sororities, college residence hall floors, and volunteer organizations.
We recommend signing up as soon as possible to give yourself at least 3 months to plan and fundraise. Ready to get started?
Join the Campaign and select “DIY SleepOut” or “Six Flags Event” as your registration type
Create a team under your Personal Fundraising Dashboard
Make sure that your school, team, or group name is the name of your Sleep Out team, so that your teammates and potential donors can easily find you.
Build your team. Encourage your friends, classmates, or teammates to sign up as participants on your Student Sleep Out team. Each participant will get their own fundraising page, which they can customize with a photo and bio about why they are Sleeping Out. Please note that team sizes will be limited to 15 participants. Hoping to have more folks participate? Create some friendly fundraising competition by dividing into multiple teams!
Important note to all participants 17 and under who are attending the event at Six Flags: We're so excited to have you as advocates for our work! Please remember that you will not be admitted to the event without an adult supervisor (21+) for every 6 individuals 17 and under. Your supervisor can also help with your planning and fundraising!
