PADS Transitions: New Executive Director Announcement

February 25, 2019

As PADS Lake County continues to work to expand our programs and services for our community, we are thrilled to announce the selection of Meghan Powell-Filler LCPC, CADC as our new Executive Director, effective March 9, 2019. Meghan is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and has a vast array of experience working with individuals who are homeless, experiencing mental health concerns, or individuals diagnosed with a developmental disability.  She has worked in the field for over 10 years—including nearly five as the Deputy Executive Director at PADS Lake County—with diverse populations and a focus on the underserved. Meghan has shown her passion and dedication to this field in every position has held whether it was at the local crisis center, CTI case manager, therapist, managing group homes and in charge of an entire homeless shelter. Meghan is also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Certified Anger Management Specialist III, Mental Health First Aid Trainer, and a Trauma Informed Care trainer.

“While I am saddened to leave PADS, I am very excited that Meghan is taking on the role of Executive Director,” says our outgoing Executive Director, Joel Williams.  “Knowing that the organization will be in great hands and will continue to thrive makes departing much easier.  Her talent, intelligence and compassion for the people we serve will lead to great success.  I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in the role.”

Meghan has expressed that she is “excited to take on this new role after being with this organization for almost five years. I have a passion for the mission and look forward to continuing to expand our programs and services so that we can provide the best possible outcomes for our neighbors experiencing homelessness and Lake County as whole.”

Please join us in welcoming Meghan into her new role and celebrating this exciting next chapter in our story. With this transition, we would like to assure our community, friends, and working partners that our mission and core values remain the same. As always, we welcome any questions and look forward to engaging the community in the exciting work we will be kicking off under Meghan’s leadership.
